Hi! Thanks for stopping by our About Us page. We are Maggie Neilson and Joe Goodwill. Since 2008 Joe has been blogging about cycling at Average Joe Cyclist and its little brother, Electric Bike Blog, going full time in 2016. In 2018 Maggie left her executive position and also came on board full time. We then created this blog, Average Joe’s RV Living Blog.

We both love traveling, and it has been our dream to travel North America (and maybe Central and South America too!) living full time in our Denali Fifth Wheel, named the Tardis (guess which one of us is the Doctor Who freak … um, that would be Joe). We are absolute neophytes at this. Neither of us has ever towed anything larger than a bike rack, and we didn’t even use to go camping! However, once our last child (of five!) was launched off to university we were ready for a new adventure, a new way of living. We both feel like this could be the last great adventure of our lives, and we intend to live it to the full!
We began our adventure in 2017 when we started researching our perfect rig and tow vehicle. That took a lot of time and energy, and we wrote about how to choose the right RV here. We finally hit the road in May 2018 in our Ford F350, towing our 30-foot Denali Fifth Wheel. Our blog is devoted to sharing our adventures, RV park reviews, local area attractions, product reviews and of course, cycling routes. Most of our posts are supported by videos, and you can find our YouTube channel here. Our aim is to provide good quality information about the places we stay, and make recommendations for good quality places, products and services we find along the way.
Average Joe Cyclist has become an iconic and well-respected source for all things cycling related for the Average Joe’s and Janes, and we hope to bring this same philosophy to Average Joe RV Living blog. As we learn about RV living, we hope to share what we learn – and the adventures we have – with other people like us.

Along for the ride are Billy, our eight-year-old Poodle/Yorkshire Terrier mix and his little sister Ripley, a five-year-old Shih Tzu/Maltese mix. At 13 and 10 pounds respectively, they are the perfect trailer dogs, and usually make an appearance in our videos.
We write this blog because we love to share our adventures. But we also need to earn a living, so we REALLY would appreciate if you click through to one of our reputable affiliates for your online shopping. We are proudly affiliated with Amazon, which sells pretty much everything, and has outstanding shipping and return policies. For your cycling and athletic shopping needs, we are also affiliated to AMAIN Cycling, Competitive Cyclist, Bike Wagon, Raleigh Bicycles, Jenson USA, REI Co-op, Backcountry, Commuter Bike Store, and Moosejaw. When you buy from our affiliates, we make a small commission, and this is the only way we earn any income. Plus, it costs you nothing at all – a real win/win situation!
